Welcome to our Site! Welcome to our new blog & website, the one and only home of all things Ella Blue!  We're so excited to share this amazing collaboration with you all.  After many long hours of mind-melting over hot mugs of coffee, our ideas and inner voices have finally materialized into an amazing website & blog combination that truly represents who we are as a boutique photography company.  Our hope is that this won't simply be a place for people to come and look at photos, but a place where you can experience the things that drive us to create.  So please, enjoy some of our favorite songs, get to know us, and share in some of the most impressionable moments in people's lives.

I was at my parents' beach house the other night with Jason & the kids.  After a nice home-cooked meal, my dad lit a campfire.  The setting sun and clouds painted the sky over Vashon Island in rich purples and oranges.  Before I even realized all the salmon jumping in and out of the water, Jason and the kids were already knee-deep with their fishing lines in the water.  They didn't catch anything, but it didn't seem to matter.  There they were, all in a row under the sky, casting their lines in silence.  Moments like these are there waiting for us all the time.  Waiting for us to stop and absorb the wonder that's around us always.

Photographing the early life of a child is a rare opportunity to save moments like these forever.  This is Brady...and he's seizing the day.

Coffee.  I'm not sure sure we can even really call it a beverage.  I mean, it is a beverage, technically.  But it's so much more than that.  It's an accessory really...an accessory of the moment.  When I wake on a crisp fall morning, slide my feet into wool-lined slippers and head downstairs to make breakfast for the kids, it's coffee.  That's the reward.  That's the accompaniment to a good song played at volume 25, the chenille blanket over my legs, and cornbread warming in the oven.  In the end folks, it's coffee.  And at it's best, Stumptown

I spent a warm summer evening last week with this beautiful family and couldn't believe how perfectly happy they all were, I knew right away it was going to be a great session. Dr. Seuss, bubbles and giant lollipops, what could be more fun than that?!
