Welcome to our Site! Welcome to our new blog & website, the one and only home of all things Ella Blue!  We're so excited to share this amazing collaboration with you all.  After many long hours of mind-melting over hot mugs of coffee, our ideas and inner voices have finally materialized into an amazing website & blog combination that truly represents who we are as a boutique photography company.  Our hope is that this won't simply be a place for people to come and look at photos, but a place where you can experience the things that drive us to create.  So please, enjoy some of our favorite songs, get to know us, and share in some of the most impressionable moments in people's lives.

Sarah & Chris Rhoads just posted some photographs of us on their blog and they are pretty amazing! View the full post here: http://www.sarahrhoads.com/blog/

This image is one of my favorites...the lighting and composition are absolutely perfect. I was reading "All About Home Baking", it was passed on to me after my great grandmother died. I love flipping through the pages to find slips of paper with beautiful handwriting and old coupons good for cake flour and molasses.

On a recent trip to Vashon Island, my dad and I stumbled upon this cool camera. I took a shot of it on the ferry as we travelled across Commencement Bay, the old green chairs were a perfect backdrop to this rugged little box camera. I brought it home for Jason to open on Father's Day. I think he liked it...

What a great picture. I love the way you captured the rugged/classic feel of the camera.

Nice. Dan's right on... the tones in this really fit the subject and highlight the old feel of the camera.
Totally miss you guys--I hate I didn't get to come out for the BBQ!

Each time we come here, we walk away raving about how this place has such unique and inviting character.  The way the avenues subtly come to life with moms & jogging strollers, feelgood college students on their way to class, and open-air markets with fresh produce, farm-raised honey, and goodwill.  It's similar to the larger cities we're used to, but something is almost indescribably different about Portland.

It was Sunday morning, and after just the right cup of coffee and a light pastry, we put our heads together in hopes of coming up with a plan to experience the nuances of Portland.  Its funny to say out loud, but the first things that came to mind were beer, bicycles, and beards.  An odd combination really, but in Portland they just fit.

The beards aside, we decided to hop on the closest bus and head to a place we'd just discovered online: Hopworks Urban Brewery. Hopworks is Portland's first "Eco-Brewpub", and they specialize in all organic, handcrafted beer.  Perfect!  Any place that features outdoor flower-pots made from halved recycled beer kegs is okay by us.  Here a few images we gathered along the way.
